Express came from behind to beat Bright Stars and return to winning ways

Express FC came from goal down to defeat Bright stars and finally returns to winning ways on Uganda Premier league matchday 14 at Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo.

Ashraf Mulinda had put Bright Stars in the lead in the sixth minute of the game after being teed up by Nelson Ssekatunka.

Express managed to came back through an equalizer from second half substitute Ssenjogera Conrad with just ten minutes in the second half.

Bright Stars whose second half performance was riddled with errors should have even conceded more but Express wasn’t clinical enough.

The hero of the day was super substitute Ssenjogera Conrad again on fire in the 64th minute of the game. Basangwa had all the donkey work teaming up with Ssenyonjo who laid it for Ssenjogera to give express three points.

The game changer Ssenjogera was a substitute in the 53rd minute of game as he replaced captain Emmanuel Wasswa.

In the 67 minutes Bright Stars midfield general Marvin Youngman was sent off the pitch after altercation with Express’ Richard Basangwa.

Interim coach Badru Kaddu attributed the victory to his players.

“Iam happy for my players after bouncing back to winning ways from 7-0 loss against Kitara FC. It has been in our plans in few days. We shall start planning from there for our next game against UPD FC because we want to keep our winning touch,” noted Kaddu.

The victory leaves Express FC in 5th with 22 points while Bright Stars is last with nine points in fourteen games.
