The Gazelles, Uganda National Basketball team has been drawn against Senegal and Guinea in Group C of the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket.
The 12-nation Women’s AfroBasket will be organised by Abidjan for the first time. The groups for the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket were confirmed at a draw ceremony in Abidjan on Wednesday
Teams were divided into four groups of three teams each, with tournament host Côte d’Ivoire drawn into Group A.

The biennial Women’s AfroBasket will take place at the Palais des Sports de Treichville in Abidjan from July 26 to August 3.
The winners of each group will automatically qualify for the quarter-finals while the second and third placed teams will play a qualifying series for the quarter-finals with the winners advancing to the last eight.
The draw ceremony took place at the Hotel des Armées in Abidjan in the presence of several FIBA Africa officials, including President Manave and Regional Director Alphonse Bile.

The Gazelles secured their spot at the continental showpiece following a dominant 74-63 victory over Egypt in the Zone V Qualifiers.
Zone V will be represented by three teams at the tournament, as both Egypt and South Sudan who are making their debut received wildcard entries.
GROUP A: Côte d’Ivoire, Angola and Egypt.
GROUP B: Mali, Cameroon and South Sudan.
GROUP C: Senegal, Uganda and Guinea.
GROUP D: Nigeria, Mozambique and Rwanda.
