Kenya’s national U17 women’s football team, the Junior Starlets, are set to fly out to Spain on Monday for an intensive two-week pre-World Cup training camp as their historic global campaign draws closer.

The high-performance camp in Europe is designed to sharpen the squad’s tactical edge and match fitness ahead of the upcoming FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

Ahead of their departure, Football Kenya Federation (FKF) leadership and legendary figures from Kenyan football gathered to give the young heroines a grand send-off.

Key figures in attendance included FKF President Hussein Mohammed, FKF Acting CEO Dennis Gicheru, former Harambee Stars captain Musa Otieno, KEFWA President James Situma, and former national team international Innocent Mutiso.

Speaking during the farewell dinner, football stalwarts urged the youngsters to carry the East African flag high and approach the global showpiece with confidence and bravery.
