The intensity of the Futsal Uganda Cup reaches a fever pitch this Friday night as rivals Kabowa Dream Team and Lubiri Falcons clash in a high-stakes, one-leg qualifier for a spot in the quarterfinals.

With no second chances in this knockout stage, both teams head into the encounter at the Old Kampala Arena knowing that a single lapse in concentration could end their cup dreams.

The two sides are no strangers to each other, having faced off earlier this season in the Men’s Futsal Super League (FSL). In that meeting, Kabowa Dream Team secured a narrow, hard-fought victory through a disciplined defensive performance. While Kabowa looks to assert their dominance once more, the Falcons are eyeing sweet redemption.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Kabowa Dream Team head coach Makumbi Farouk urged his side to remain vigilant. “We respect the Lubiri Falcons a lot. The league game showed how small the margins are. In knockout football, experience and concentration decide everything,” Farouk noted.

On the other side, Lubiri Falcons’ tactician Mubiru Najeeb believes his side has evolved since their last meeting. “That loss hurt us, but it taught us important lessons. We are a better team now. The cup is a different competition, and we want to show our growth,” Najeeb said defiantly.

Key Battles to Watch
The match is expected to be decided by individual brilliance and tactical discipline.

Between the posts, goalkeeper Lukwago Huzaimah remains a vital wall for Kabowa.
For Lubiri Falcons, all eyes will be on creative playmaker Kintu Mansoor, whose pace and trickery on the wing can dismantle the most organized defenses.
