Kampala Club Ltd proudly joined the global squash fraternity on 10th October 2026 to celebrate World Squash Day at its home squash venue, bringing together young players and the squash community to celebrate the passion, talent, discipline and respect that make squash a truly special sport.

The celebration was organised by Kawooya Micheal Raymond, a professional squash player, coach and squash development ambassador in Uganda, whose continued involvement in the game reflects a commitment to promoting squash, nurturing young talent and encouraging more children to participate in the sport.

Under the theme “Rally for Squash,” Kampala Club Ltd used the occasion to recognise the importance of grassroots development, youth participation and the continued growth of squash in Uganda.

The event highlighted the role of sports clubs and coaches in creating opportunities for young people to learn, compete and develop their abilities through sport.

The photographs from the celebration capture Coach Kawooya Micheal Raymond standing proudly alongside a group of young squash players at the club’s squash courts.

Armed with their rackets and dressed in colourful sportswear, the children represented the promise and potential of the next generation of Ugandan squash players.

Their participation reflected the importance of introducing children to squash at an early age, providing structured coaching and creating opportunities for regular practice and competition. Activities like these help young players develop technical skills, physical fitness, confidence, discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship.

For Kampala Club Ltd, investing in young players is an important step towards building a stronger squash community and preparing future athletes who can represent the club and Uganda in local, regional and international competitions.

World Squash Day provides an opportunity for players, coaches, clubs and supporters around the world to celebrate the sport and encourage more people to take up the game. At Kampala Club Ltd, the occasion served as a reminder that squash development begins at the grassroots level, where young players are introduced to the fundamentals and given the encouragement they need to progress.

Through coaching, mentorship and organised activities, the club continues to provide a platform where young players can discover their potential and develop a lasting interest in squash.

The celebration also emphasised the importance of working together to promote squash in Uganda, strengthen youth programmes and create a positive sporting environment for players of different ages and abilities.

His work with young players reflects the wider need for coaches and sports administrators to support grassroots programmes and inspire the next generation.

By bringing young players together for World Squash Day, the celebration helped reinforce the message that the future of squash depends not only on established competitors but also on the children learning the game today.

The 2026 World Squash Day celebration at Kampala Club Ltd was a moment to appreciate the players, coaches and supporters who contribute to the growth of squash. It also offered an opportunity to renew the commitment to developing talent, promoting participation and raising the profile of squash across Uganda.

As the squash community looks towards the future, initiatives that bring young people onto the court remain essential to building a stronger and more inclusive sporting culture.

Kampala Club Ltd’s message is clear: Rally for Squash, nurture young talent and keep the spirit of the game alive.
