Hosts Kenya extended their ruthless dominance on home soil, sweeping arch-rivals Cameroon 3-0 at the packed Kasarani Indoor Arena to march into the finals of the 2026 CAVB Women’s African Nations Volleyball Championship.

The defending champions produced a masterclass performance, dispatching the Volleyball Lionesses in straight sets (25-19, 25-20, 25-20).

Spearheaded by opposite hitter Terry Tata—who put up a game-high 14 points—Geoffrey Omondi’s side controlled the net from the opening serve to extinguish Cameroon’s hopes of a comeback.

The emphatic victory keeps Kenya’s title defense firmly on track as the Malkia Strikers target a record-extending 11th continental crown.

By virtue of reaching the grand final, both Kenya and Egypt have officially sealed their qualification spots as Africa’s premier representatives at the 2027 FIVB Volleyball World Cup.

However, the ultimate prize remains at stake: the winner of Friday’s gold-medal clash will earn direct qualification to the LA 2028 Olympic Games.

Egypt punched their ticket to the final after crushing Rwanda 3-0 (25-5, 25-17, 32-30) in the first semi-final fixture.

The North Africans will be seeking revenge after losing 3-0 to Kenya in the 2023 final held in Yaounde.
