Lugazi FC 2-2 UPDF FC
Najjembe based side Lugazi came from behind once to force a 2-2 draw at home to UPDF FC on Friday in Uganda premier matchday twenty three.
Sam Ssemugugu and Emmanuel Obua scored the goals for Lugazi FC while Samuel Kayongo Ssekamate and Janjali Joseph were both on target for the visitors.
After dominating the first minutes of the game, Ssekamate handed the army’s side in the lead, scoring in the 14th minute of the game.
UPDF looked the better side in the first half and could have been two up after half an hour. Janjali had an effort that rattled the crossbar.
Sam Ssemugugu equalized from the spot to restore parity for the Leaders in the 50th minute of the game to make it 1-1.
Two minutes later Emmanuel Obua restored the leaders lead off a Kalanzi Abdul assist.
UPDF eventually equalized in the 69th minute through Janjali to share points in Najjembe stadium.
The Leaders remain 11th on the Uganda Premier League table with 29 points while UPDF also remains 10th with 29 points.
UPDF FC will host Maroons while Lugazi will lock horns with Kitara FC in Hoima for the next fixtures.
