Lukanga Boxing Club Continued to prove it’s dominance when it retained this year’s National Intermediates Boxing championship for a fourth Consecutive time .
Bankrolled by renowned boxing enthusiast Sam Lukanga, the Najjanankumbi-based club won the juniors, Elites and youth category titles in the one -week tournament which ended on Sunday evening at the TCL Kamwokya were Lukanga Bc emerged as the overall champions with 100 points beating UPDF boxing Club with 38 points and Cobap boxing club finishing third with 29 points .
The closing ceremony was graced by president Uganda boxing federation Mr Moses Muhangi, Former Uganda table tennis president Mr Jjaggwe Robert, Musician Mark de Urban and Navio Kigozi among others.

In the juniors (14-16 years), Lukanga BC collected 38 points to Brawn Boxing Club (15 points) to lift the title. The Najjanakumbi based side club added the youth crown with an unassailable 29 points against Cobap Boxing Club with 16 points .
Lukanga BC complete with the Elite category (featuring boxers above 18 years of age) title with 33 points.UPDFC boxing Club were runners-up with 21 points. The tournament attracted over 700 pugilists from 44 clubs, which included three from Mbale, Kaliro, Arua, fortal port and Bududa districts.

Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) president Moses Muhangi says the best-performing pugilists in very category that will represent Uganda to the common weatlh games In Glasgow and UBF wants to build a new national team, The Bombers, ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games and 2028 Olympic qualifiers”.
“Muhangi vowed to support the development of boxers from the lowest to the highest level by strengthening the sport’s infrastructure and integrating amateur and professional boxing under one administration.He added.
