The Bugerere Stabex EMC Rally kicked off today with a unique twist, as drivers began their competition with a tree-planting activity in Bugembe.

The rally then transitioned to the racing stages, where Ponsiano Lwakataka emerged as the winner of day one with a total time of 0:33:49.88 minutes.

Lwakataka’s impressive performance earned him the top spot, followed closely by Musa Ssegaabwe in second place with a 0:34:33.63 minutes total time and Hassan Alwi in third on 0:34:46:47 total time.

The drivers showcased their skills and navigational expertise, battling for position on the challenging terrain.

However, the night stage was canceled due to safety precautions, ensuring the well-being of all participants. The focus now shifts to the second and final day of the rally, which will take place in Kayunga.

On Saturday, drivers will face two stages: Stabex (15 km) and Amos Lugoobi (25 km). Both stages will be repeated twice, pushing the competitors to their limits.

The drivers will need to maintain their focus and driving skills to navigate the demanding course and secure their positions.

As the rally continues tomorrow, fans are eagerly waiting to see who will emerge victorious. Will Ponsiano Lwakataka maintain his lead, or will Musa Ssegaabwe and Hassan Alwi mount a challenge?
