Riders from across the country converged on Omito track in, Lira, for the fourth round of the national motocross championship.

Sixty riders participated in the two-day event, each vying for top honors in their respective categories. This marks the first time the motocross championship has been held in Lira.

The Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development, Hon. Betty Amongi Akena, who is also the wife of FMU President Jimmy James Akena, graced the event and expressed gratitude to the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) for bringing the sport to the region, promising to support its development.

Gift Ssebuguzi, Miguel Katende, Wazir Omar, Fortune Ssentamu, Hellena Birungi, and Jude Musedde among others were the standout performers who captivated the audience.

Kayiira Jeff won in MX Vets, Swansi Swambo out performed in the ladies’ class (WMX), Wazir Omar (MX1), and Waleed Omar in MX2. Other class winners include; Ssebuguzi in MX 125cc, Jamairah Makumbi (MX65cc Ladies), Hellenah Birungi (MX50cc Ladies), Katende (MX85cc).
Muganzi Ronieta Ssebuguzi won in MX50cc Junior as Ethan Musedde won in MX 65cc.
