Musa Ssegaabwe is on a mission to etch his name into the National Rally Championship (NRC) history books.

The driver, piloting a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 9, is 53 points behind leader Ronald Ssebuguzi (294) with 241.5 points, and he’s determined to seize the title in the season-closing UMOSPOC Kabalega Hoima Rally this weekend in Hoima and Kikuube districts.

“I started racing during COVID-19, and I set a goal to be NRC champion,” Ssegaabwe said with grit. “If not this year, I’m already prepping a brand new car to make it happen.”

Ssegaabwe’s chances on the championship

For him to win the championship, Ssegaabwe has to win Hoima Rally to collect 50 points but again has to be accompanied by a power stage 10 points win with Ssebuguzi’s DNF.

The rally will push drivers to the limit with a total distance of 230km, including 120km of competitive stages. Can Ssegaabwe overturn the lead and make history?
