Preparations for the 38th edition of the UMEA Solidarity Games have received a major boost after officials from the Uganda Moslem Education Association concluded an inspection visit to Nkoma Secondary School in Mbale.
The delegation visited the school to verify whether the facilities meet the standards required to stage the annual Muslim schools’ sports event scheduled for April 2–6, 2026 in Mbale City.

During the tour, the officials examined key areas including student accommodation and the sports grounds that will host different competitions.
The inspection team was led by the Solidarity Games chairman Hajji Twahir Kitezala, who commended the efforts undertaken by the host school to upgrade its infrastructure ahead of the event.

Kitezala said the improvements made around the campus were encouraging and would not only enhance the quality of the games but also contribute to raising the standards of Muslim-founded schools.
Nkoma Secondary School headteacher Abubakar Kawanguzi welcomed the delegation and extended an invitation to Muslim schools across the country to attend the games, noting that the event remains an important platform for building unity and strengthening relationships among the institutions.

Other officials on the inspection team included UMEA General Secretary Hajji Hussein Lwebawo, technical official Ayub Kalifah and Hajji Ndugwa Badru.
With the inspection successfully completed, attention now turns to final preparations as Nkoma SS gears up to welcome hundreds of student-athletes for the 2026 UMEA Solidarity Games.
