SC VILLA 1-0 Express
The Uganda Premier League record holders SC Villa beat arch rivals Express FC (0-1) this evening at Luzira maximum prison ground.
The second half Patrick Kakande penalty earned Villa three points after Ashraf Mbazira handling the ball in the box.
This loss is Express’ gaffer, Badru Kaddu fourth of the season following BUL FC 2-0, URA FC 2-1 and Kitara 7-0 victories.
Towards the end, Villa goalkeeper Angufindru pulled off a double save after attempts from Basangwa and substitute Gagganga to deny the visitors a late equalizer.
The result extended the Red Eagles search for a league double over Villa. Express last achieved this feat in the 2013/14 season.
The Jogoos moved to 6th position with 24 points, just one point adrift Express FC, who sit 4th on the summit.
In next matches SC Villa will visit UPDF FC on 2nd March 2025, while Express will host Wakiso Giants the following day.
