Pearl Rally: Sameer Nanji optimistic on his debut in Uganda

The desire for Kenyan to win the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally (POAUR) keeps on increasing as another driver puts in entry and vows to fight for the win.

Sameer Nanji, joins the growing list of Kenyan drivers how are taking part in the event slated for May 8th-11th in Western region of Uganda, Mbarara.

“I’m really excited about participating in the Pearl Rally. This event marks a big milestone for both myself and Impala Motorsports. We’ve been putting in a lot of hard work preparing for this outing, both on and off the track, and we’re eager to show what we’re capable of,” Sameer explained to Rora Media.

He promised to show the fans talent and entertainment they had taken long without seeing in this particular rally

“Fans can expect a strong and focused performance from us. We’re coming in with determination, discipline, and a deep passion for the sport. Let’s just say we’re not here to take part, we’re here to make an impression.”

Sameer, who will be making his debut in Uganda is eager to experience the Ugandan rally culture as he rates high the fans plus the nature of the roads.

“I’ve heard incredible things about the rally culture in Uganda. The fans are said to be some of the most passionate and energetic in the region, and I can’t wait to feel that atmosphere in person. We’ve been warned in the best way possible about the roads. From what I gather, they’re fast, technical, and full of surprises. And that’s exactly what excites us,” he noted.

POAUR, will act as the second round of African Rally Championship (ARC) as well as the third Uganda National Rally Championship round. It is slated for three days over May 8th-11th weekend with 11 sections covering a total distance of 486.26 km of which 298.16 km will be liaison as 188.10 km competitive.
