The Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) has taken a significant step towards full compliance with the new sports act by successfully holding an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) at Nob View Hotel in Ntinda. The meeting addressed key governance issues, paving the way for the association’s re-registration with the National Council of Sports (NCS).
Key Resolutions
The EGM resolved to implement several structural changes, including:
- Creating a new elective position for a Clubs Representative to enhance direct club involvement in governance
- Redesignating the role of Tournament Director to Technical Director, focusing on strategic technical development

Fresh Elections
A major outcome of the EGM is the resolution to hold fresh elections for a new four-year term. The current executive, elected in January 2023, will hand over leadership following the upcoming polls.
Re-Registration Progress
The association has made significant progress towards re-registration, having received district schedule forms from nearly 50 districts across the country. With this milestone achieved, the PAU is poised to finalize its mandated registration with the NCS this Friday.
