NAIROBI – In a season that continues to throw up surprises, Ulinzi Stars FC forward Paul Okoth has officially announced his arrival on the big stage.

The former Migori Youth striker was today named the SportPesa Premier League Player of the Month for November 2025.

Okoth’s rise is a classic “grass-to-grace” story. Having joined the “Soldiers” from the second-tier National Super League (NSL), he has quickly become the focal point of Ulinzi’s attack, becoming only the second player to win the accolade this season after Gor Mahia’s Shariff Musa.

A November to Remember
Okoth’s November was nothing short of spectacular, contributing directly to four goals in just a handful of fixtures: The Match-Winner: He scored a stunning “screamer” to secure a vital 1-0 win over APS Bomet.

The Masterclass: In a 3-1 victory against Sofapaka, Okoth was untouchable, netting twice and providing a clinical assist.

“A Collective Victory”
Despite the individual glory, the humble striker was quick to deflect praise toward his teammates. “I feel good. This was not only my effort but also my teammates because we worked together to achieve this,” Okoth said during the award ceremony. “The award motivates us as players and helps us push even harder.”

Eyes on the Golden Boot
The transition from the NSL to the Premier League is often difficult, but Okoth has made it look easy, already tallying six goals this season—including a crucial equalizer in Thursday’s clash against AFC Leopards. Now, he has set a massive target for the remainder of the campaign: 20 goals.

“The level of competition in the Premier League is better than the NSL. I expect to fight for the Golden Boot,” he added confidently.

The Prize
For his efforts, Okoth walked away with a customized SportPesa Trophy and a KES 50,000 cash prize (approximately 1,330,000 UGX), which he revealed he would share with his parents and teammates.
