The Uganda Cricket Cranes secured their second win in the Pearl of Africa tournament, edging the United Arab Emirates by 6 runs in a thrilling match at Entebbe. After winning the toss and batting first, Uganda set a target of 126/9, with Ragaav Dvaani scoring 44 runs off 42 balls and Shridep Mangela contributing 39 runs off 38 balls.

Cranes’ Bowling Unit Shines

In response, UAE started strongly, racing to 55/0 in the 8th over. However, the Cranes’ bowling unit, led by Juma Miyaji (3/28) and supported by Dinesh Nakrani (2/22), Alpesh Ramjani (1/17), and Frank Nsubuga (0/22), restricted UAE to 120/8, falling six runs short.

Coaches’ Feedback

Uganda’s coaches, Abhay Sharma and Jackson Ogwang, praised the team’s fighting spirit but emphasized the need for sharper execution in upcoming matches. “We must keep our focus. Every match here is crucial preparation for the World Cup Qualifier,” said Ogwang.

Cranes’ Standings

With two wins in as many games, the Cricket Cranes have picked up valuable ranking points and remain unbeaten alongside Namibia A. They will face eternal rivals Kenya in the Migingo Derby on Monday.
