Uganda’s swimming fraternity is buzzing with excitement following the federation’s announcement of its delegation for the World Junior Championship.

The wordwide showpiece is set to take place in Romania from August 19th to 24th, 2025, where World’s best young swimmers will compete for their respective flags.

A talented group of four young athletes, accompanied by a dedicated coach, will represent the nation at this prestigious world event.

The selected team showcases the depth of talent emerging from Uganda’s swimming scene, with athletes hailing from various clubs across the country.

Team Uganda will not be having Heer Usadadiya, who had qualified for the event but is unable to participate due to school examinations in Australia.

Led by their dedicated head coach, Oliver Nalwadda, the selection of these athletes is a testament to their unwavering commitment and the tireless efforts of their respective coaches.

These athletes were selected based on their exceptional performance and the highest World Aquatics points in their respective specialty events. The team will commence official training shortly in preparation for the championships.

  • Aaliya Ba RAYA (Female)
  • Jordan SSAMULLA (Male)
  • Ian AZIKU (Male)
