NAIROBI – The 2025/26 Kenyan Women Premier League (KWPL) concluded its 2025 calendar year with a seismic shift at the top of the table. In a dramatic final weekend of action, Ulinzi Starlets seized the league lead after former frontrunners Trinity Starlets suffered a catastrophic defeat at the hands of the defending champions.
Police Bullets Rediscover Ruthless Form
The biggest story of the games came from the Police Sacco Stadium, where defending champions Kenya Police Bullets delivered a brutal 8-0 demolition of the then-league leaders, Trinity Starlets.
Coming into the match on a three-game winless streak, the “Law Enforcers” reminded the league of their pedigree. Puren Alukwe was the star of the show, netting a clinical hat-trick, while Ugandan import Margaret Kunihira also found the back of the net with a beautiful strike.
The result ended Trinity’s five-round stay at the top and moved the Bullets within one point of the lead with a game in hand.
Ulinzi Capitalize to Take the Lead
With Trinity Starlets stumbling, Ulinzi Starlets took full advantage. Despite a competitive race, Ulinzi now sits in first place with 20 points, leading Trinity on goal difference (+10 vs +1).

Vihiga Queens kept themselves firmly in the title hunt with a 2-0 away win over Gideon Starlets, thanks to goals from Martha Amunyollette and Gladys Mulati.
Soccer Assassins pulled off an impressive 2-1 upset against Kayole Starlets at the Dandora Stadium.
Bungoma Queens edged out Kisped Queens 2-1 in a tight encounter at Moi Stadium in Kisumu.

Looking Ahead to 2026
The league now takes a brief festive break before resuming in late January 2026.
With only two points separating the top four teams, the race for the KWPL title is the most competitive it has been in years.
At the bottom, Kisumu Allstarlets face a daunting task in the new year, having secured only one point from their opening ten matches.
