The tax collectors will look to extend their impressive run when they take on Police FC at Kavumba Recreation ground, Wakiso, on Friday evening.
Currently in 4th place on Uganda Premier League table with 42 points from 24 games Police are 12th with 27 points.
Speaking ahead of the game, head coach Alex Isabirye acknowledged the increased difficulty of the second round and emphasized the need for greater effort.
“It won’t be an easy game but we are ready and we want to continue with our winning run. We respect our opponents and we know they will also come to fight for results with their new technical team that is experienced,” said URA FC head coach ahead of the tie.
“Every game feels like a final, and we anticipate tough challenges. However, the lads understand what is at stake and will give their best to secure victory,” he added.
In the reverse fixture earlier this season, URA FC edged Police 1-0 at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, with substitute Joseph Ssemujju scoring the match-winner late in the game.
Tax collector’s came with major boost with the return of their top scorer Ivan Ahimbisibwe, who is back from injury and part of the squad set to take on Police. However, the team will be without Hudu Mulikyi (rehabilitation), Isma Mugulusi (injury), and the youthful duo of Denis Kisiriko and Godfrey Ssekibengo, who are both away attending school duties.
In the last encounter Tax Collectors defeated KCCA 1-0 victory while Police shared spoil with BUL FC in goalless draw at FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.
Police FC will assess defender Farouk Katongole late on after he picked up a knock during their Uganda Cup clash with Kataka.
The Cops will welcome back Allan Bukenya and Daniel Jakony, both available for selection after serving suspensions in their last outing.
Reagan Matege has returned to training, but the match comes too soon for the midfielder.
