URA FC officially unveils striker Fred Amaku as their third signing

The four times Uganda Premier League Champions, URA Football Club has acquired service of the Fred Amaku from Kitara FC following the expiry of his one year contract at the Hoima based side.

Amaku has penned down two-years employment contract with the tax collector’s ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 season.

Amaku becomes the third addition to coach Alex Isabirye’s squad in the ongoing transfer window, following the return of Kabon Living and goalkeeper Chrispas Kusiima, also from Kitara FC.

Known for his sharp instincts in front of goal, intelligent movement, and relentless work ethic, Amaku arrives with a weight of expectation from the club’s management and technical team to add firepower to URA’s attacking options.

“Joining URA FC is a big step in my career and I’m truly excited for this new challenge. This is a club with great ambition and tradition, and I want to be part of its success story. I have come here to work hard, score goals, and help the team compete at the very top. My target is simple – hit double figures in goals, deliver important performances, and make the fans proud.” He said upon signing.

Across the last three Uganda Premier League seasons, Amaku has been one of the most consistent attacking players in the country. During that period – two seasons with Maroons FC and one with Kitara FC – the forward featured in 79 matches, clocking 5,892 minutes, netting 29 goals, assisting eight times, and earning eight man of the match accolades.

Amaku, who is held in high regard and valuable experience and with leadership qualities. The club views him as a key figure both on and off the pitch.

His journey also includes spells at Onduparaka, Paidha Black Angels, Busoga United, Maroons, and Kitara. To date, he has made 117 appearances in the top flight for Busoga, Maroons, and Kitara FC.

The club believes Fred Amaku’s arrival will boost its attacking depth and sharpen competition within the forward line, as URA FC targets a strong 2025/26 campaign both in the league and domestic cup competitions.
