URA FC made a quick return to winning ways in the Uganda Premier League after overcoming UPDF FC on Friday at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.
The Tax Collectors who had a great start to 2025 suffered a blip in their last league outing, falling 1-0 to Kitara FC.
Today, URA FC have claimed a 2-1 hard fought win over UPDF FC thanks to two-half goals from Moses Okabo Aliro and Abraham Tusubira Kakensa while the bombo based side got thier consolation through Rashid Farid.
A blistering start to the game saw the Tax Collectors get into the lead in the 10th minute through Aliro Moses who finished from a close range well-delivered by Joseph Ssemujju.
The Army side equalized through Rashid Farid in the 61st minute of the game.
Six minutes after the half-hour mark, the home side doubled their lead through Abraham Tusubira who made a good run and slotted from close range to guide tax collectors back to winning ways.
The tax collectors’ result lifted them to fourth place on the Uganda Premier League log with 30 points while UPDF remained in 9th place with 24 points.
In the next matches URA FC will visit the Eastern Giants, BUL FC on Friday 14th March while UPDF FC will host KCCA FC at Bombo military barracks on Thursday.
