SC Villa forward Charles Lwanga has attributed his outstanding performances in November to consistent hard work and determination. His efforts earned him the ForteBet Real Stars Player of the Month Award for November, which he received during a ceremony at Lazio Restaurant in Kololo, Kampala.

He believes if he maintains he scoring touch the Cranes coach Paul Put will consider him for the national team ahead of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) finals.

“I’m excited to receive this award. I have been working hard and I the end I have managed to benefit from my sweat. My teammates and the technical team have also helped me to perform. I want to keep scoring so that I have an opportunity to be consider for national team ahead of the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) finals,” noted Lwanga.

Lwanga’s stellar form saw him score six goals in November, including a sensational four-goal performance in Villa’s 5-0 victory over UPDF and a brace in their 6-1 win against Wakiso Giants, both held at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku. These achievements solidify his status as one of the league’s top performers and a strong candidate for national team selection.

Lwanga who is the joint top scorer in the Uganda Premier League with URA’s Ivan Ahimbisibwe, has set ambitious goals for the ongoing season, with his sights on scoring 20 league goals after an inspiring start.
Lwanga’s remarkable performances earned him the ForteBet Real Stars Player of the Month Award for November, where he edged out Vipers’ Allan Okello and Milton Karisa.

The awards ceremony, held at Lazio Restaurant in Kololo, Kampala, also celebrated athletes from other disciplines. Jas Mangat, the National Rally Championship winner, claimed the motor rally award following his Kabalega Rally triumph. In rugby, Lydia Namabiro was recognized, while Riazat Ali Shah received the cricket accolade for his outstanding achievements.

Lydia Namabiro, who claimed her second ForteBet Real Stars Award, expressed gratitude and described the recognition as a significant motivation.

“This accolade will not leave me the same. I’m going to work hard to see that I win the next awards,” Namabiro stated, highlighting her commitment to continuous improvement.

The ceremony also celebrated the contributions of veteran sports journalist Hassan Badru Zziwa, who was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his remarkable 35 years of dedication to sports journalism. His work has been instrumental in shaping and documenting the landscape of Ugandan sports, making him a revered figure in the industry.
