After failing to win their most recent Uganda Premier League game against Kitara FC, Vipers SC will be keen on getting back to winning ways as they visit Soltilo Bright Stars at Kavumba today Saturday evening.

The Venoms were held to a barren stalemate against Kitara, but today presents an opportunity for a bounce back.

Despite playing three games fewer, Charles Livingstone Mbabazi’s charges still have the top spot in sight as they sit third with 31 points, eight adrift leaders Kitara FC.

The Venoms sit second on the log with 21 points, two adrift current leaders NEC FC, who have played a game more. The latter drew 1-1 with URA FC earlier on Thursday.

The Kavumba based side lie rock-bottom on the table, having managed six points in 10 games. They’ll thus, be raring to turn their fortunes around.

Soltilo Bright Stars, on the other hand, suffered a 1-0 defeat to Mbale Heroes FC in their most recent outing.

Last season in Kavumba, they were comfortable 2-0 victors over Bright Stars, courtesy of Andrew Kyambadde own-goal and one from Bright Anukani.

In the return leg at Kitende, it ended in a one-all draw, with Eric Kambale scoring for Vipers, while Shafik Kakande netted for Bright Stars.

Vipers and Soltilo Bright Stars will be meeting for the 21st time in the league with the Venoms superior on head-to-head, having won 11 times, drawn nine and without any loss in the previous 20 encounters. They have scored 22 goals and conceded six.
