Waking the Elgon Dust: Mbale Returns to the NRC After Eight-Year Exile

Waking the Elgon Dust: Mbale Returns to the NRC After Eight-Year Exile

Mbale is back, and the motorsport scene is buzzing! After an eight-year hiatus, the Elgon city is set to host the Uganda National Rally Championship opener on March 27-28. Organized by MPU Club, this event promises to be a thrilling start to the season, with drivers and teams revving up for a fresh start.

The 2018 Mbale rally saw Susan Muwonge make history, clinching her second national title in a nail-biter. If this year’s opener is anything like that, we’re in for a treat! The season opener is where the “New Year, New Me” energy hits the gravel, with fresh notebooks, polished cars, and ambitious plans.

Last year’s champion Ronald Sebuguzi proved that in rallying, tradition counts for nothing once the green flag drops. The arms race is on, with teams upgrading and importing new machines. More horsepower is coming, and more heartbreak is likely to follow. Mbale, the stage is yours.
