NAIROBI – The FKF Women Premier League (KWPL) delivered a classic on Wednesday as Kibera Soccer Women pulled off a sensational 3-2 victory against heavyweights Kenya Police Bullets.

In a match defined by clinical finishing and high intensity, Kibera proved that they can go toe-to-toe with the league’s elite.

The Anne Arusi Masterclass
Kibera Soccer Women signaled their intent early, with Anne Arusi breaking the deadlock in the 14th minute. The home side doubled their advantage before the half-hour mark through Grace Wekesa, leaving the star-studded Police Bullets side shell-shocked at halftime.

The second half saw a spirited fightback from the law enforcers. Elizabeth Ochaka pulled one back for Police Bullets in the 50th minute, but their joy was short-lived as Anne Arusi completed her brace just four minutes later to restore Kibera’s two-goal cushion.

Police Bullets refused to go down without a fight, with Lornah Nyabuto finding the net in the 65th minute to set up a frantic final quarter. However, the Kibera defense held firm until the dying seconds of stoppage time when Faith Mboya put the result beyond doubt, sealing a historic 3-2 win in the 90+4th minute.

League Standings Update
Despite the loss, Kenya Police Bullets remain in the title conversation, currently sitting 3rd on the log with 16 points from 8 matches. Kibera Soccer Women move to 11 points, further cementing their 8th-place position as they look to climb into the top half of the table.

Meanwhile, Trinity Starlets FC continues to set the pace at the top of the league with 20 points, three clear of second-placed Ulinzi Starlets.
