11 Ugandans attain FIA leadership and management courses to streamline motorsports

In line to develop and improve motorsports in the country, Uganda has received Modern Sports Governance and Motorsports Leadership and Management graduates.

11 people enrolled for the two a week length certificates from the FIA University. They all received their certificates yesterday during the 2024 FIA General Assemblies in Kigali, Rwanda.

The Modern Sport Governance had 8 graduates in Kees Kagolo, Nivece Kizito, Monica Birwinyo, Ronnie Kyazze, Joe Burua, Jackson Serwanga, Leon Ssenyange, and Dr. Mohammeed Ashraf Ahmed.

The Certificate in Motorsport Leadership and Management had Monica Birwinyo, Nivece Kizito, Ronnie Kyazze, Shafiq Matovu, Ernest Musiime, Albert Hugo Ofong and Leon Ssenyange as graduates from Uganda.

These graduates add to the 2 (Leira Blick Mayanja and Reynolds Kibira) Uganda got last year from the Baku, Azerbaijan FIA General Assemblies. Mayanja and Kibira did Leadership and Management course.

Modern Sports Governance introduces learners to Structures of FIA operations, basis of FIA and helps them to know the sport management and mobility, ethics and compliance plus the code of ethics under units like effective governance, key principals of governance and their application.

For Management and leadership courses, learners are introduced to the operations of FIA under units like Global motorsport framework, club governance and the beauty to develop the sport.

Ugandan motorsports has had management issues in the past and so with these attained by a number of Ugandan, the Federation of Motorsports Clubs in Uganda (FMU) has got a chance to have clubs streamlined with good governance through their members who have attained the training thus improving the sport.
