The 2025 Buganda Masaza football tournament is set to kick off on June 21st, featuring 18 teams vying for the coveted title.
Defending champions Buddu will face record winners Gomba at the Kitovu Sports Arena in Masaka. Rora Media sports reporter Lubulwa Edrine reveals the different head coaches and their backroom staff.
Reigning Champions and Record Winners
Buddu, seeking their fourth title, have appointed Eric Kisuze, the head coach of Uganda Marty’s Nkozi. Gomba, aiming for their sixth triumph, will be led by Simon Ddungu, who will work alongside Simon Gitta.
Other Notable Appointments
- Busiro, the 2023 champions, have named Dennis Kiyimba ‘Mulangira’ as their head coach, assisted by Uganda Cranes legend Hassan Wasswa Mawadda.
- Ssingo Ssaza, two-time winners, will be managed by Hamza Lutalo.
- Kyaggwe, the 2024 Masaza Cup runners-up, have appointed experienced gaffer Simon Peter Mugerwa, who has previously managed Ssingo, Buddu, Bulemeezi, and Busiro, winning three titles.
