Namuwongo Blazers delivered a commanding performance to defeat KCCA Panthers 83-57 in their National Basketball League clash held Wednesday at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.
Prior to the game, the Blazers unveiled their newest additions; Anthony Chukwuebuka and Ivan Muhwezi as part of efforts to bolster their roster for the season.
The Blazers took early control of the game, with Davis Asiimwe sinking a three-pointer to end the first quarter with an 18-11 lead. By halftime, Moses Mugisha had extended their advantage with a deep three, pushing the score to 42-20.
Despite a stronger third-quarter showing from the Panthers, they remained behind 60-39 heading into the final period. Muhwezi, the new signing, made an instant impact by drilling a series of long-range shots that sealed the emphatic 26-point victory in front of an energetic crowd.
Joel Lukoji led the Blazers in scoring with 16 points, supported by Innocent Ochera (12) and James Okello (10), all hitting double digits. For KCCA, Ivan Lumanyika was the lone standout, scoring 10 points.
