The 2025 Taibah Schools Badminton Championship returns bigger and better after a well preserved relationship between Uganda Badminton Association and Taibah International Schools.
This year’s edition has been launched at Taibah International Schools Cambridge head offices along Entebbe road in Bwebajja today, Tuesday 11th March 2025.
The action will shuttle off on 14th March and climax on 16th at the Lugogo Indoor Arena as participants will be competing in Primary and Secondary categories including; individuals, schools, doubles, singles and mixed doubles.
Taibah International Schools supported the championship with a collection of an assortment for shutters, trophies and medals worth Shs11M which were handed over to Uganda Badminton Association CEO, Simon Mugabi by the principal Taibah International School, Oscar Semweya Musoke.
Addressing the media during the launch Mugabi said the tournament will be competed for by over 30 Schools in the under 10, 13 for Primary schools while Secondary schools will have under 15 and 19 categories.
“Very big prizes are at stake and very participant will enjoy themselves though. It is always a very competitive event and good enough, Taibah International Schools is back to support since event gives values of participating to our players.”
Speaking to principal Taibah International School, Musoke re-stamped their participation in the annual championship
“The Taibah Schools Badminton Championship is an annual exciting event. We feel proud to be part each passing year and I predict that this year, it will also be a wonderful event. We are ready for it because as a school we balance education and sports development,” Musoke stated.
Musoke announced the Shs 11M sponsorship saying that, “we have Sponsored this championship for over 20 years. Sports is power integrals except of our education we believe in it when students are physically fit, they are mentally fit too. Long ago it wasn’t appreciate but right now the whole world know the value of sports because you can get income from it.”
