SC Villa to visit Lugazi FC at Uganda Cup Round of 16 stage

The Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 16 draw has been held today, Tuesday morning at the FUFA Complex in Mengo. The draw was conducted by Ibrahim Mugisha, a former Uganda Cranes goalkeeper and five-time winner of the tournament.

Cup holders Kitara FC, who beat NEC (1-0) to win the trophy, have been drawn against Gaddafi FC, a Big League side, in an away fixture.

Elsewhere, KCCA FC (record winners) will face tricky side, Rwenzori Lions from the Kitara region while, SC Villa (9-time winners and reigning StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions) will visit Lugazi FC.

Vipers SC, the current StarTimes Uganda Premier League leaders and three-time winners, will battle Blacks Power FC, the FUFA Big League leaders.

Then URA FC, also a three-time winner will visit Kataka, a Big League side based in Mbale.

BUL FC (2022 winners) will face Total FC from the West Nile Region while Maroons FC will play Police. Then Kaaro Karungi, will battle UPDF FC.

According to FUFA Competitions Director Hajat Aisha Nalule, the Round of 16 matches for the Stanbic Uganda Cup will take place from Monday, March 17, to Friday, March 21, 2025, and will be played as single-leg ties.

As per the Stanbic Uganda Cup Rules, Article 19, the 16 teams that qualified from the second round will compete in this stage. The team with the most goals at the end of the match will advance. In the event of a draw, a penalty shootout will determine the winner.
