2025 UMEA Solidarity Games has secured a significant financial boost package worth six million (6m) Partnership deal with Mavid Pharmaceuticals.
The announcement was made on Monday, April 14th, at Mavid Pharmaceuticals headquarters located at Rashid Khamis Road in Kampala and will facilitate the opening and closing ceremonies as well as all football competitions at the 2025 UMEA Games.
The 2025 UMEA Solidarity Games will be held between Thursday 17th April and Monday 21st April at Namagabi Secondary School in Kayunga District.
The ceremony was graced by Hajji Twahir Kitezaala, the chairman of the UMEA Solidarity Game, Dr. Aisha Bukenya represented Mavid Pharmaceuticals and chairman of Uganda Schools football Association Mr Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi among others.
Over 100 schools are expected to take part. In Football (Girls & Boys), Netball (Girls), Badminton (Girls & Boys), Table Tennis (Girls and Boys), Volleyball (Girls & Boys), Handball (Girls & Boys) plus mind games that will be organized for both Girls and Boys.
Participating schools shall report on 17th April, 2025 and the opening ceremony will be on 18th April (Good Friday) to be played until 21st April (Easter Monday) and Over 67 Muslim Secondary Schools have so far confirmed participation in this year’s UMEA Solidarity Games.
Kibuli Secondary School emerged as the overall champions at last year’s edition which was held at Masaka Secondary School.
Recently the 37th edition of the UMEA Solidarity Games enters into partnership with Nivana Uganda as the official water partner of the 2025 UMEA Games.
