SC Villa edged NEC FC 2–1 in a tense Uganda Premier League encounter played today evening at the FUFA Kadiba Stadium in Mengo.
Referee George Olemu signaled the start, and the opening half unfolded with few clear chances. Both sides probed cautiously, with Ibrahim Kasinde coming closest for Villa when his half-volley rattled the woodwork just after the half-hour mark. NEC defender Ibrahim Kiyemba later required medical attention and was briefly taken off the pitch before resuming. The half ended goalless.

Villa returned from the break with greater urgency and broke the deadlock in the 47th minute. Najib Yiga finished neatly after being teed up by Frank Ssebuufu, handing the Jogoos a deserved 1–0 lead.
NEC made several changes in search of an equaliser, but they struggled to create meaningful chances against a disciplined Villa backline. The hosts struck again in the 87th minute, with Elvis Ngonde doubling the advantage after a well-weighted assist from Hassan Mubiru.

The visitors pulled one back in stoppage time when James Jarieko headed in from a Joseph Data corner, but it proved only a consolation as Villa held firm to claim all three points.
