Uganda Premier League (Today, 4pm)
Police v Kitara
When the new Uganda Premier League season kicked off, few analysts bothered to place Police FC anywhere near the early contenders. A team that had flirted with relegation only months earlier was expected to spend another year scraping for survival. Instead, seven games in, the Cops have rewritten their script sitting second on the log with 14 points and playing some of the sharpest football in the division.
This afternoon, the transformed side steps onto familiar turf at the polished Kira Road Police Arena in Kamwokya, chasing a fourth straight win that could remarkably send them to the top of the league.

The architect of this unexpected resurgence is head coach Matia Lule, a man who took charge last April when the club was knee-deep in relegation trouble. His arrival steadied the ship, guided them to safety, and laid the foundation for what is now one of the most impressive starts to a UPL campaign in recent memory.
Yet Lule is not letting the strong start cloud his message.
“We’ve been improving every week, and the victory away to Entebbe UPPC showed the players understand what we want,” he said. “The clean sheet was important because conceding had been a problem. But now we face Kitara a very organised side so our approach must remain disciplined, hungry, and consistent.”

Under his watch, Police have found balance through a blend of youth and experience. Congolese striker Bedia Ikamba has emerged as a focal point in attack, while skipper Saidi Kyeyune anchors the midfield with characteristic authority. The spine of the team veterans like Mathias Muwanga, Deus Bukenya, Samuel Kayongo, Richard Matovu and Lawrence Tezikya has provided Lule with reliability and calm in key moments.
Kitara arrive in the capital with momentum of their own after edging BUL 1–0 in Hoima, but their away struggles linger like a warning light. They have lost both of their road matches this season, each time by a single goal, and will need something sharper to halt Police’s current charge.

This is going to be a really exciting match to watch! I’m eager to see how Police performs against Kitara.
