Uganda Premier League (Today, 4pm)
BUL v Entebbe UPPC

BUL FC head coach Abbey Bogere Kikomeko has called on his squad to show personality and purpose as they prepare to host Entebbe UPPC on Thursday, framing the clash in Njeru as a test of resilience rather than a simple league fixture.

The Eastern Giants walk into the game carrying an unfamiliar feeling. Their remarkable 25-match unbeaten run in the league was snapped by Kitara over the weekend, a result that Kikomeko says “stung,” not because of the scoreline, but because it briefly exposed a side that had grown used to dictating play.

BUL line up.

Instead of dwelling on that loss, the BUL coach has tried to tilt the mindset forward. He believes the reaction will define his team more than the defeat itself.
“We have shifted our attention from what happened in Hoima,” he said. “The goal now is straightforward regain our rhythm and compete the way we know we can. The injuries we’ve had have influenced our performances, but excuses won’t help us. We have to show fight, especially at home.”

BUL will welcome timely reinforcements, with striker Karim Ndugwa slotting back into the matchday fold and goalkeeper Thomas Ikara returning from national duty with the Cranes. Those additions restore depth at both ends of the pitch, though the absence of defender Tah Barni Kelvin, suspended after his red card against Kitara, leaves a gap in the backline.

Despite sitting eighth after just two wins in seven games, BUL remain within touching distance of the early frontrunners. A home victory could push them into the top four a reminder of how tight the early-season table remains in the 16-team division.

UPPC line up.

Entebbe UPPC, who suffered a 2-0 loss to Police in their previous outing, also enter the contest with something to prove. With both teams locked on 10 points, Thursday’s duel shapes up less like mid-table traffic and more like a battle for early momentum.

For Kikomeko, the narrative is clear: the unbeaten run is history the real statement must come from the response.
