KAMPALA – SC Villa produced one of their most commanding displays of the season, sweeping aside a disjointed URA FC 3-0 at the FUFA Stadium–Kadiba on Thursday night to move joint-top of the Uganda Premier League table.
Coming into the match needing a response after recent dropped points against Maroons, the Jogoos wasted no time asserting control. Their early pressure paid off in the 22nd minute when Diego Missi Ssemugera took full advantage of a sloppy spill from goalkeeper Chrispus Kusiima, pouncing to give Villa a deserved lead.

URA thought they had equalised minutes later through Hudu Mulikyi, only for the celebrations to be cut short by an offside flag. The tax collectors continued to struggle penetrating a disciplined Villa backline, resorting mostly to hopeful long balls that rarely troubled goalkeeper David Lukwago.
Shortly after the break, URA made a triple substitution in search of a spark—but it backfired almost instantly. Within a minute, Najib Yiga doubled Villa’s lead, finishing a flowing move to make it 2-0 and send the home fans roaring.

The visitors’ frustrations deepened when injuries forced more changes, further breaking their rhythm. Villa capitalised once again in the 69th minute as Frank Mulimi’s shot took a wicked deflection off Arthur Kiggundu to seal the result at 3-0.
From then on, it was damage limitation for URA. They struggled to muster any meaningful threat, while Villa confidently managed the tempo, introduced fresh legs, and closed out a win that lifts them to 20 points—level with leaders KCCA. But have a game in hand and a superior head-to-head record.

URA, meanwhile, remain stuck in 10th place on 11 points, their struggles in the final third glaring once again.
Diego Missi Ssemugera was named Man of the Match after a brilliant all-round performance that set the tone for Villa’s dominant night.

What a fantastic performance by SC Villa! It’s great to see them really dominating the game like that.
