BUL FC finally ended their eight-game winless streak in the Uganda Premier League with a narrow 1–0 victory over newly promoted Calvary FC at the Midigo Primary School grounds. The win, which comes after six defeats and two draws, also marked Alex Isabirye’s debut as BUL head coach following the departure of Abbey Kikomeko.
The match got off to a delayed start due to the absence of an ambulance, but once underway, BUL quickly asserted themselves. In the 9th minute, Karim Ndugwa slotted home a well-timed finish from a Reagan Kalyowa assist to give the visitors an early lead, which proved decisive.

Despite numerous attempts from both sides, the score remained 1–0 as BUL displayed resilience and controlled the game. Key substitutions, including Innocent Odong, Isaac Wagoina, and Alex Kitata, helped maintain pressure and secure the clean sheet.

BUL’s defence held firm even as Calvary made late changes, with Julius Ocen and John Rogers receiving yellow cards in the second half for fouls. Ndugwa’s early goal proved the match-winner and earned him Man of the Match honors.
The victory lifts BUL to 13 points, moving them to eighth on the table and 10 points clear of bottom-placed Calvary, providing a crucial boost in confidence as Isabirye begins his tenure in charge.
