As the Stanbic Uganda Cup heats up, FUFA has issued a stern reminder to participating clubs: professionalism on match day is non-negotiable. Any club failing to adhere to the Laws of the Game and competition regulations risks being barred from hosting future FUFA-sanctioned events.
The warning came from FUFA Competitions Director Aisha Nalule during the Round of 64 draw at Protea Hotel, Kololo, where she also confirmed that all matches in this stage will be played between February 4–10, at venues across Uganda.
This season’s tournament saw a record 333 clubs enter, with only 64 teams now remaining to compete for the Shs50 million winner’s prize. Runners-up will collect sh25m, while the third- and fourth-placed sides earn sh12.5m each. Clubs advancing to the Round of 32 will also share a tournament kitty of Shs150 million.

Nalule emphasised that FUFA’s priority is ensuring matches are organized professionally, with adequate facilities and safety measures in place. She urged host clubs to provide quality grass pitches, proper crowd control, medical support, and security, while avoiding hooliganism, match manipulation, and unlicensed operations.
In the Round of 64, all Uganda Premier League clubs are slated for away fixtures. Reigning champions Vipers SC will face third-division Northern Gateway SC in Lira, while Express FC travel to West Nile to meet Pakwach Young Stars. Other notable fixtures include SC Villa vs Pallisa Hospital FC, KCCA FC vs St. Garage Masindi, and a tantalizing matchup between Football Classroom FC and Calvary FC.
The draw was conducted with the assistance of former Uganda Cranes star Umar Ssenoga, who played in three Uganda Cup finals during the 1990s. The event was organized by Rhino Events and presided over by FUFA Third Vice President Florence Nakiwala.
With the stage set for high-stakes clashes, FUFA is making it clear: only clubs that host responsibly will remain part of Uganda’s premier knockout competition.
