Kampala University (KU) is set to face Kampala International University (KIU) today at the Yes Sports Centre in Nsambya.

This match is crucial for KU, as a victory is essential to make them advance to the quarterfinals of the Pepsi University Football League.

In their previous encounter last September, KU secured a narrow 1-0 victory over KIU, with Gilbert scoring the decisive goal. Both teams are coming off losses in their recent matches: KU suffered a 3-1 defeat to Bugema University, while KIU lost 1-0 to Gulu University.

As of now, Bugema University leads the group with 12 points, having defeated KU both home and away. KU holds second place with nine points and aims to qualify as one of the two best second-placed teams, given that only the group winner earns a direct ticket to the quarterfinals.

Despite being at the bottom of the group with one point and already eliminated from contention, KIU is expected to challenge KU vigorously due to their rivalry.
