Nine man SC Villa continued their fine run of form with a solid 2-0 victory over Mbarara City in the Uganda Premier League on Tuesday evening at Kakyeka Stadium.

The Jogoos controlled proceedings and were rewarded with goals in either half to complete a league double over the Ankole Lions, having won the reverse fixture 4-2 at Wankulukuku. The result marked Villa’s fourth win in five games.

Mbarara, who were hoping to end their home win drought dating back to November 2024, struggled to create clear chances and remain in the lower half of the table.

The loss also deepens the pressure on the side as they continue their search for stability and survival.

It was a professional performance from SC Villa, whose defensive discipline and clinical finishing made the difference on the day despite getting three red cards.

David Owori, defender Geofrey Lubangakene and goalkeeping Coach Yusuf Ssenyonjo were sent off.

The result saw Villa move sixth with 36 points while Mbarara City are 13th with 23 points.
