The 2024 two-wheel drive (2WD) category Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally champion, Ibrahim Lubega ‘Pasuwa’ has vowed to defend his win come May 8th-11th in Mbarara.
Pasuwa who has missed two rally this year assured Roramedia that he’s ready to defend his win as the car is fully getting the necessary services to enable him tussle it out in the three days, 11 sections 486.26 km distance event.
“I have ever been in Mbarara. It’s one of the places with non challenging routes. We are ready to fight as the car too is ready to make us push up to the flying finish,” Pasuwa said.

His aim is to show the fans that he’s still capable of fighting with the big boys.
“The two events I have missed might make people think that I no longer know how to over speed and fight. But I assure you Pasuwa is still strong, hard and ever ready to rumble.”
The soft speaking speedster has aims of changing the bucket seat to a more powerful car and wishes to rest this machine with a win. Last year besides winning the 2WD category, he was 14th overall.
“We want to change to a new machine. This will hinder us from doing the whole calendar. In the Pearl Rally we want to give our machine a good send off because it has always been obedient to us, winning championships for the team as well as giving us podium finishes.”
POAUR, will act as the second round of African Rally Championship (ARC) as well as the third Uganda National Rally Championship round. 298.16 km of the event will be liaison as 188.10 km are competitive.
