The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) has officially disqualified Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA) from the ongoing 2025 U-20 National Boys’ Football Championship currently taking place at Ngora High School.
The decision follows serious rule violations during and after the school’s semi-final clash against St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School Kitende on May 13, 2025. After a thorough investigation by the National Organizing Committee, JIPRA was found guilty of multiple breaches, including:
Fielding ineligible players; Isabirye Adrian and Ntege Musa who had each accumulated two yellow cards and were therefore suspended, involvement in violent conduct, including the assault of match officials and inciting crowd violence actions deemed to have contravened USSSA Rules 8.1 and 8.2.
As a consequence, USSSA has imposed the following sanctions on the school:forfeiture of the semifinal match, immediate expulsion from the championship, immediate removal from the games village and the wider Ngora District and additional disciplinary measures will be determined and announced following consultation with the Ministry of Education and Sports.
USSSA reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining discipline, integrity, and fair play across all its competitions.
