Betpawa, East Africa’s leading betting powerhouse, has renewed its partnership with the Futsal Association of Uganda (FAU), committing Sh334.522 million to support the growth of futsal in the country. The partnership will fund the Betpawa Futsal Super League, Futsal Uganda, and the Futsal Super Cup.

Thrilling Futsal Super Cup Final

The renewed partnership was announced at the Futsal Super Cup finals, where Park FC defeated Mengo City FC 7-6 in a tense match, defending their title. The event showcased the excitement and competitiveness of Ugandan futsal.

Incentivizing Performance

The sponsorship includes a Locker Room Bonus (LRB) scheme, where winning teams receive Sh1,235,000 per match, shared among players and technical staff. The total LRB for the season amounts to Sh232,180,000. Additionally, individual awards include Sh500,000 for Best Goalkeeper, Golden Boot, Best Defender, Best Midfielder, Young Player, and Best Coach.

Investing in Futsal’s Future

Betpawa’s East Africa Regional Manager, Ivy Nyonyozi Igunduura, emphasized the company’s commitment to investing in a system that rewards talent, commitment, and results. “We’re building not just players—but careers, clubs, and communities,” she said.

Sustainable Growth

FAU Chairperson Hamza Junju praised the partnership, noting that it has transformed futsal into a real business. “We now have coaches analyzing opponents more deeply, players training harder, and teams fighting for every win,” he said. Junju also announced plans to introduce women’s teams in every club in the Futsal league next season.
