UPPC Football Club, newly promoted to the Uganda Premier League, has announced the signing of midfielder Noordin Bunjo ahead of the 2025/2026 season. Bunjo joins the Entebbe-based side from Bright Stars FC on a permanent deal after their relegation to the FUFA Big League.
Returning to Top Flight
Bunjo returns to top-flight football after a two-year hiatus, during which he mainly featured in the Big League for Proline FC. He becomes the sixth player to be officially unveiled by UPPC FC, following Hassan Ssenyonjo, Steven Mungunchi, Arthur Kiggundu, Mustapha Mujuzi, and goalkeeper Rojers Omedwa.
Creative Spark
Bunjo’s signing is a significant addition to UPPC FC’s building process under coach Abdullah Mubiru. The midfielder brings creativity to the team, which will be crucial in their bid for success in the Uganda Premier League. Bunjo’s experience playing for top-tier clubs like St. Mary’s Kitende, Proline, and Bright Stars FC will be invaluable to the team.
Filling the Void
Bunjo is expected to fill the void left by Jungu Methodius, who previously played for UPPC FC. With the new playing system under coach Mubiru, Bunjo’s skills and creativity will be essential in helping the team adapt and succeed.
Trophy-Winning Experience
Bunjo’s credentials include guiding Proline FC to a Uganda Cup trophy in 2021, which earned them a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup qualifying rounds. His experience and trophy-winning mentality will undoubtedly benefit UPPC FC as they look to make a mark in the Uganda Premier League.
