The Uganda Cricket Association has named a 14-member Victoria Pearls squad to represent Uganda in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifiers, scheduled to take place in Windhoek, Namibia, from August 31 to September 6, 2025.

Squad Includes Experienced Players

The squad welcomes back all-rounder Jane Amongin, Milisa Ariokot, and Irene Mutonyi, who are now available to play after their school holidays. The team is led by captain Janet Mbabazi and includes a mix of experienced and talented players.

Tough Competition Ahead

Uganda is drawn in Group B alongside Kenya, Rwanda, and Tanzania. The top two teams from the tournament will advance to the Global Qualifier, the final gateway to the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England and Wales. Uganda will face stiff competition from hosts Namibia and regional giants Zimbabwe, but the team is determined to return to the world stage.

The Victoria Pearls have regrouped under new coaches Deus Muhumuza and Brian Masaba, who are working to build a stronger team. After a challenging campaign in the Global Qualifier in Abu Dhabi, UAE, the team is focused on improving and remaining a force in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup pathway.
