Uganda’s U20 Women’s National Football Team is now just one step away from sealing a historic berth at the global stage after brushing aside Namibia to book a place in the final qualification round.

The Queen Cranes showcased both discipline and hunger at FUFA Technical Centre, Kadiba, on Monday, sealing a 2-0 return-leg victory that wrapped up a commanding 5-0 aggregate triumph.

Peace Muduwa and Agnes Nabukenya struck within the first half to settle the contest early, ensuring Uganda never had to break sweat in the second period. The result only reaffirmed the gulf in class between the two sides, especially after Namibia had earlier chosen to play both legs in Uganda.

Coach Sheryl Ulanda Botes’ charges now turn their focus to the last hurdle, where Zambia or Burundi will stand in their way. Zambia hold a 2-1 advantage going into Saturday’s return leg in Lusaka, and whichever side emerges will determine Uganda’s next and toughest challenge yet.

For now, though, the Queen Cranes continue to dream — and their march suggests they are ready to make it a reality.
