The MTN Omondi Stadium was alive with optimism as KCCA FC officially kicked off preparations for the 2025/26 season. Club Patron and Kampala Lord Mayor, H/W Ssalongo Erias Lukwago, joined Deputy Executive Director Benon Moses Kigenyi and the club board for the season’s first official briefing.

The day began with a tour of the stadium’s new primary stand, part of the massive redevelopment project whose second phase is set for completion by the end of October 2025. With visible progress on the stands, leaders and staff later convened for an inspiring session that set the tone for the year ahead.

Lord Mayor Lukwago urged players and staff to embrace the values of discipline, unity, and ambition: “This club is more than just a team. It should be reflected in how we carry ourselves and how we play. We pledge our support for you, and I believe this season can mark a new chapter of success. Believe in yourselves, in the team, and in what we can achieve together.”

Representing the Executive Director, Deputy Executive Director Benon Moses Kigenyi emphasized the administration’s practical commitment. He announced that the team will receive a new bus this season and congratulated KCCA players who featured for Uganda at CHAN 2024:
“You made us proud. The sky’s the limit, but remain grounded your success depends on it.”

Club Chairman Andrew Mukiibi echoed his gratitude to the city leadership and reaffirmed the board’s determination to see the stadium project completed: “On behalf of the board and the club, I extend our appreciation to the Lord Mayor and Executive Director for their support. We are committed to ensuring the second phase is finished quickly, so fans can enjoy a home worthy of this great club.”
With construction nearing completion and leadership pledging support, KCCA FC enters the new season with renewed energy and high expectations both on and off the pitch.
