Fresh Faces, Renewed Fire: She Cranes Set for Celtic Test

Uganda’s journey toward next year’s Commonwealth Games will take a crucial stopover in Glasgow, where the She Cranes are gearing up for the high-intensity Celtic Netball Cup later this month. Rather than simply naming a team, Netball Uganda has signaled a clear shift toward blending experience with bold new talent.

One of the most intriguing storylines is the rise of Police Netball Club sharpshooter Specioza Namukose, who has forced her way into the national setup with an impressive domestic campaign. For the first time, she will wear the national colours an opportunity many insiders believe is long overdue.

Despite the new blood, the backbone of the squad will rely heavily on tested warriors. Rachael Nanyonga, the ever-reliable Goal Attack, takes charge of the team’s leadership, while seasoned defender Lillian Ajio marks her return after a spell away from international duty.

Glasgow’s Emirates Arena will host the six-nation showdown from 26th to 30th November 2025, featuring Scotland, Zimbabwe, Northern Ireland, Namibia, and the She Cranes in a round-robin battle that promises intensity from start to finish.

For Uganda, this tournament is more than a competition it is a rehearsal on the very same stage where they will chase Commonwealth glory next year, and the blend of youthful ambition and veteran presence may just be the formula they need.

Final Squad:
Lilian Achola, Lilian Ajio, Malisera Akello, Gloria Aya, Shadiah Nassanga, Margaret Baagala, Faridah Kadondi, Mary Nuba, Shakira Nassaka, Rachael Nanyonga, Christine Nakitto, Shaffie Nalwanja, Specioza Namukosa, Fildauce Namulema.
