Lugazi FC and Express FC battled to a 0–0 stalemate in a tight Uganda Premier League encounter played on Thursday at Najjembe Stadium.
Express started the brighter side, forcing early corners and applying pressure in the opening minutes, but Lugazi weathered the early storm and soon created chances of their own. The hosts came close midway through the first half when David Bagole’s header seemed destined for the net, only for an Express defender to clear off the line.
Both sides traded spells of dominance in an otherwise balanced first half that ended goalless after one minute of added time.

Lugazi introduced Moses Buga and Freedom Mungudt at the restart, while Express also made changes as they sought to inject fresh energy into their attack. The second half opened up, with Lugazi pushing harder, but Express goalkeeperAli Ramadhan Mwirusi pulled off a key save to keep the tie level.
Lugazi continued to threaten and were inches from snatching the lead when a late free kick crashed against the crossbar, drawing gasps from the home crowd.
The match ended with a flurry of substitutions and yellow cards as both teams tried to find a breakthrough, but the finishing touch proved elusive.
The stalemate leaves both sides sharing the spoils, with Express defender Ashiraf Mbazira named Man of the Match for his commanding performance.
