The African Handball Confederation (CAHB) President, Dr. Adolphe Aremou Mansourou, is set to visit Uganda for the very first time.
His visit is in line with the much-anticipated 2025 International Handball Federation (IHF) Trophy by Africa Zone V tournament to be hosted by Uganda.
Dr. Mansourou is expected to attend the event as Guest of Honor, a move that organizers say underlines Uganda’s growing influence in regional handball. His visit is seen as a major endorsement of the country’s efforts to promote and develop the sport at the grassroots and national levels.
The tournament will be organized by the Uganda Handball Federation in conjunction with the International Handball Federation body and It focuses on the ages below 19 years and 17 years.

The event will bring together National Youth and Junior teams from Kenya, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia, South Sudan, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania and Uganda from May 6th to May 10th, 2025.
It will also be the first time to host the 2025 Africa Zone 5 International Handball Federation (IHF) Challenge Trophy.
The tournament will take place in two venues, with the U17 matches to be held at the Old Kampala Arena, while the U19 games at St. Juliana Secondary School in Mayangwa.
